I love to read, but sadly time has not been on my side recently and my favorite hobby has not received the loving devotion I’ve always promised it.
To change that, I’m trying to incorporate small clips of reading here and there- waking up 20 minutes earlier to divulge in a chapter, stealing 20 minutes to read when my son naps, or skipping a favorite tv show to turn a few pages.
Books I’ve recently finished include Still Me by Jojo Moyes (which I recommend if you’re a fan of Lou and her bumblebee tights!), the poetry collection The Sun and Her Flowers by Rupi Kaur (you can read my review here), and a collection of short stories from women writers and the influence Paris has played in their work called A Paris All Your Own: Bestselling Women Writers on the City of Light.
Up next is The Sonnet Lover by Carol Goodman and Wreckage by Emily Bleeker, which is the pick for my May book club.
After that, I hope to tackle:
The Female Persuasion by Meg Wolitzer
Manhattan Beach by Jennifer Egan
Not That Kind of Girl by Lena Dunham
Milk and Honey by Rupi Kaur
Into the Water by Paula Hawkins
The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson
A Man Called Ove by Fredrik Backman
And quite honestly the list could go on, and on, and on!
