Notes from the Week, 6.18.21

NS Park flowers

Happy Father’s Day weekend to all the dads out there! Wishing you all the love and joy you can handle! We’re hanging out at the pool all weekend (weather permitting 🤞🏼) and having a seafood soiree complete with crab legs, mussels, and shrimp. YUM!

Exploring

With the weather cooler than what we can handle at the pool, we’ve enjoyed multiple trips to the playground this week and taking small geocaching excursions. My son has really become enamored with geocaching, so it’s been fun to take the hobby back up and see how well our skills have kept with us.

Watching

When we’re trying to unwind at night, my husband and I have been watching Kim’s Convenience on Netflix. It’s genuinely endearing and helpful for lightening the mood.

Eating

During the summer I adore simple recipes that are delicious and fast. We’ve made this Spaghetti with Summer Tomatoes, Burrata, & Basil last weekend- the burrata is the all-star in this! It adds the creamiest touch to the burst tomatoes. And for Father’s Day, we’re making Giada de Laurentiis’ Italian BBQ Shrimp because it is so easy and delicious!

Wearing

I’ve noticed the rubber Eva Birkenstock sandals showing up everywhere this summer and thus, selling out. I think they’re a fresh approach to a tried and true classic, but wasn’t having any luck locating a pair so I opted for this black pair of sandals from Walmart that are a fraction of the price and a solid-looking dupe!
