Notes from the Week, 3.19.21

Big Hope

This weekend we’ll be celebrating with dinner with my parents who are now fully vaccinated! Small wins bring big hope.

Pencil Me In

I recently ordered from GREER, an online & Chicago-based stationery retailer run by Chandra Greer {who handwrote a sweet thank you on my receipt!}, to add to my collection of pencils and pens. As of lately, I have taken comfort in trying out different pencils for writing and sketching and will report my finding as to which pencils and type of lead I prefer soon!

Reading Notes

I recently stopped at Half Priced Books and picked up Windfallen by Jojo Moyes {one of my favorite authors}, The Night the Lights Went Out by Karen White, and Bella Figura by Kamin Mohammadi, and can’t wait to dive into them all!

Last week, I finished The Underground Railroad by Colson Whitehead, a must-read in my opinion for all and I can clearly see why he won the Pulitzer.

On a {much} lighter note, I cracked open Summer at the Little Beach Street Bakery by Jenny Colgan. This is the second in her Little Beach Street Bakery series and it’s been a fun read thus far.

After Colgan’s book, I plan to dive into Colson Whitehead’s other Pulitzer Prize winner, The Nickel Boys, as it’s my book club’s March pick and our meeting date is fast approaching!

Bath Time

This weekend we’re making bath bombs! We ordered this kit from Kiwi Co. for our son in the hopes to make bath time more fun and less of a chore.
