Happy Mother’s Day weekend to all the moms out there! I hope you receive ALL the love & joy of the occasion that you are seeking. I plan to celebrate hosting my mother and mother-in-law (and the entire immediate family) with a nice Italian-themed luncheon at home- can’t wait!
Pizza Gold
For our son’s birthday last year, we subscribed him to Kiwi Crate, a subscription program that delivers art and science projects to your door once a month. While he gets excited about mail, especially greeting cards, when his Kiwi Crate arrives, he’s over the moon!
The April box was themed around treasure maps and offered a fun way for him to learn about maps, directions, scale, and estimation. Plus, he got to emboss some cool gold coins and assemble a wooden treasure box to store them in. #win
Along with a coordinating storybook, they also suggest other activities, like creating a treasure map pizza. So, we grabbed some dough and created a yummy map full of adventure complete with a yellow and green pepper palm tree, olives that led the way to the red pepper X, and mushrooms that served as rocks.
I can’t recommend KiwiCo and their crates enough, they offer boxes for all age ranges and is a fantastic way to excite kids about learning.
Next Chapter…
I just finished Windfallen by Jojo Moyes and adored it! She’s always great at interweaving past and present storylines and this was no exception. If you’re a fan of her work, I suggest you read it, it won’t disappoint.
Currently, I am reading Surfside Sisters by Nancy Thayer as it is on loan from a friend and I’m on a time crunch to return it. It’s set in one of my favorite locations, Nantucket, MA, and I am sure it will evoke all kinds of summertime feelings. And right now, in my opinion, summer can’t get here soon enough!
