My husband and I had a business meeting in Emerald Isle, North Carolina recently- a perk of owning and running your own business– so we decided to make the most of our time in the area and explore the Crystal Coast.
The Crystal Coast consists of 85 miles of coastline in North Carolina, mainly consisting of town and beaches like Emerald Isle, Pine Knoll Shores, Morehead City, Beaufort, Atlantic Beach, and so on. I do have to say, the area is beautiful and not overly touristy, which made for a nice escape from the hectic landscape of Myrtle Beach.
We stayed at The Inn at Pine Knoll Shores, which I can’t recommend enough. It was recently renovated with a modern twist. Our room was oceanfront, which I loved, and the rhythmic waves with dolphins and pelicans at play in the sea created a relaxing spot to review notes from our business meeting.
When we weren’t working, we took the time to explore, visiting Fort Macon State Park, the town of Beaufort, and touring the North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores– a must for the kiddos if you’re in the area!
At night, we had fantastic meals- some of our favorites were at Amos Mosquito’s, The Crab’s Claw, and the Clam Digger Restaurant, which was conveniently located in our hotel!
Have you been to the Crystal Coast? If so, which beach is your favorite?
